IL GIALLO
I was commissioned to design the logo for il Giallo Osteria & Bar. “Giallo” (pronounced "ja-lo") means “Yellow” in Italian—a color that pops up everywhere in Italian life: the golden sun, bright Amalfi lemons, rich olive oil, cornmeal polenta, saffron risotto, yellow tomatoes, Parmigiano rinds, and of course those glorious egg yolks that make fresh pasta sing. The symbol and lettering were designed to bottle up that same rustic warmth, vibrancy, and a little bit of Italian sunshine on a plate.
